3D Modeling & VR Innovation for Security Training

Creative Depth: 3D & VR Showcase

OSI - Rapiscan Systems & S2 Global | 3D / VR Integration

Overview

At OSI, a leader in security solutions, there was a growing need for visually compelling presentations and interactive training tools that didn’t rely on physical equipment. Traditional methods lacked scalability and engagement, especially across international markets. The mission became clear: develop cutting-edge 3D models and VR experiences to elevate OSI’s brand presence and training effectiveness.

As the marketing specialist, I built an internal library of hundreds of 3D models, including detailed concepts like the 620 CX Orion series, and led the development of immersive VR modules in Unity with S2 University instructors.

The Challenge

The OSI Security Screening Division needed a way to demonstrate and teach its high-tech products without transporting costly physical units. Traditional presentation methods lacked scalability, and training programs needed an engaging solution that could travel—virtually.

The challenge:
• Create compelling 3D visualizations to replace in-person demos
• Make VR training accessible across regions, without compromising realism
• Overcome hardware limitations and motion sensitivity issues for older users
• Support S2 University instructors with content that worked for modern learners

The Goal

• Build an internal 3D model library for use in client presentations, investor meetings, and marketing collateral
• Develop fully immersive VR training modules in Unity that support hands-on learning
• Position OSI as a leader in 3D and VR innovation in the security sector
• Reduce logistics costs while increasing training effectiveness worldwide

My Role

I played a leading role in shaping OSI’s 3D modeling and VR content—applying visual design to enhance training, marketing, and brand storytelling.

The role:
• 3D Modeler – Developed high-fidelity models of screening systems like the 620 XR and Orion 920CX, used in global airports, sales demos, and internal training
• VR Developer – Built immersive simulations in Unity, partnering with S2 University instructors to reflect real-world detection scenarios
• Marketing Collaborator – Translated complex product features into clear, engaging visuals for client presentations, YouTube ads, and conference exhibits

Platform Tactics:

  • VR Headsets: Delivered immersive, hands-on training without physical hardware

  • Unity Engine: Supported cross-platform VR content that scaled globally

  • YouTube & Web: Showcased 3D models and training teasers to prospects and partners

  • Client Presentations: Used rendered scenes to elevate pitches, investor updates, and sales collateral

SEO & Keyword Integration

  • To strengthen OSI’s digital positioning, I incorporated relevant keywords 3D modeling, VR training, unity development, security screening solutions, and interactive brand storytelling into presentation materials, YouTube captions, and client assets. This enhanced discoverability and highlighted OSI’s edge in immersive tech.

Results & Outcomes

  • The 3D model library became a formatted asset packed with OSI’s design innovations

  • VR training modules were adopted by government agencies and security institutions, expanding OSI’s global footprint

  • Interactive simulations replaced physical gear, reducing costs and increasing training efficiency

  • The Rapiscan 620 XR and Orion 920CX gained visibility through high-precision 3D renders used in international airport setups

  • OSI repositioned as an innovative leader in tech-driven security visualization and education

Takeaway

By merging 3D design, VR development, and brand storytelling, I helped OSI transform promotional and training processes. The result: cost-effective, immersive experiences with measurable engagement, global impact, and a strengthened tech-forward brand identity.
